Tall case brass dial clock, ca. 1780-1785.

Mahogany tall-case clock. The hood has a molded arch pediment with three turned and carved urn-and-flame finials on plain plinths and pierced fretwork, free-standing stop-fluted columns with brass or gilt stop-fluting, capitals and bases and a glazed door with an astragal top. Base with cove molding at the top, stop-fluted quarter columns at the front corners with brass or gilt stop-fluting, capitals and bases, and a case door with a molded edge and astragal top, Base with cove molding at the top, a molded bottom and supported on ogee bracket feet. Composite brass dial with applied chapter ring with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, applied cast decoration in the spandrels and lunette, and a name boss engraved "Simon Willard Roxbury." Inside the chapter ring there is a seconds dial and a calendar aperture. Eight day movement.
